Description: This generously sized fossil fish mural showcases a 17¼" and a 9" Diplomystus dentatus, an 11½" Mioplosus labracoides, a 10" Priscacara serrata, a 5½" Cockerellites liops, and five Knightia eocaena ranging from 4¾" to 6½" in length. The rippled texture of the natural fossil-bearing stone was likely formed by ancient seismic activity. This texture provides a dramatic backdrop for the exceptionally well-preserved fossils. The stone was quarried from our private quarry in southwestern Wyoming, part of the Green River Formation.

This richly textured fossil fish mural features two Diplomystus dentatus, a Mioplosus labracoides, a Priscacara serrata, a Cockerellites liops, and five Knightia eocaena in a commanding presentation. These specimens date to the Early Eocene and were discovered in our quarry in southwestern Wyoming. The exquisitely rippled surface of the fossil-bearing limestone adds rich visual interest, while its warm beige tones create an elegant backdrop for the fine preservation and subtle color of these ancient specimens.
This mural is suited to display in both horizontal and vertical formats.
The mural is finished with a handmade Wenge wood frame and is backed in wood with a built-in French cleat. This mural ships in a custom wood crate, fully insured against loss or damage. It arrives ready for immediate installation.
