This fossil fish mural was quarried from our "Mosaic Lake 1" stone layer. This is a dark limestone with a light texture, and colors ranging from blue-gray to tan. The mural contains some less common fossils including a 6-3/4" Phareodus testis, a 5-1/2" Mioplosus labricoides, and a 3-1/2" Knightia eocaena. The fossils date to the Early Eocene, 50 million years old. The stone was unearthed from our private quarry in southwestern Wyoming, part of the Green River Formation. The mural is supplied framed in a hand-made Wenge wood frame, backed in wood with a cleat attached.
