Description: This dynamically-hued mural was quarried from the “Mosaic Lake” stone layer. This mural features an exquisitely preserved 18" Diplomystus dentatus, accompanied by a large 10-1/2" Priscacara serrata as well as four Knightia eocaena. The colorful fossil stone was quarried from a rare dark limestone only found in our quarry. This stone also yields some of our best-preserved fossils.

This refined fossil fish mural showcases a Diplomystus dentatus, a Priscacara serrata, and four Knightia eocaena in a striking composition. The stone is our "Mosaic Lake" stone layer, a rare dark limestone unique to our quarry. It yields some of the best-preserved highest-quality fossils we find. The fossils date to the Early Eocene, these specimens were unearthed in our quarry in southwestern Wyoming. The fossil-bearing limestone displays a dramatic play of color, adding depth and visual richness to the scene and providing an elegant backdrop for the fine preservation and subtle hues of these ancient fish.
The mural is finished with a handmade Wenge wood frame and is backed in wood with a built-in French cleat. This mural ships in a custom wood crate, fully insured against loss or damage. It arrives ready for immediate installation.
