Description: This sculptural fossil fish mural presents an engaging arrangement of seven exceptionally preserved fossil fish from the Green River Formation. The centerpiece is a 17-1/2" Diplomystus dentatus, whichi is complemented by an 8″ Priscacara serrata, two Cockerellites liops measuring 4-3/4" and 5-1/2", and two Knightia eocaena ranging from 5-1/2″ to 61/2” in length. The elegant range of beige hues and the sculptural texture of the natural, fossil-bearing stone provide a striking backdrop for these beautifully preserved fossils. Set in richly textured natural limestone, the matrix showcases elegant beige hues that highlight the depth and detail of each specimen. The stone was excavated from the famed “Fossil Lake” layer in our private quarry in southwestern Wyoming, one of the world’s most important Eocene fossil sites.
