This irregularly shaped accent mural was quarried from our "Knightia Lake" stone layer. It is composed entirely of Knightia eocaena, a small schooling fish that once thrived in warm, freshwater lakes. The Knightia Lake layer records a sudden episode of ecological collapse, perhaps caused by a rapid turnover of temperature, an algal bloom, or oxygen loss. The mural reveals a moment of prehistoric stillness: dozens, sometimes thousands, of fish perfectly preserved in graceful density, their final moment captured forever in stone.

The stone is backed in wood with finished beveled edges. We have added a two-part French cleat to the wood backing for easy hanging. Our murals ship in custom-made boxes, fully insured against loss or damage.
