This Collector-sized fossil fish mural was quarried from a rare dark limestone layer that we call "Mosaic Lake I". The stone is unique to our quarry. It offers light textures with contrasting tans and gray colors. The fossil preservation in this layer is also typically exceptional due to the stone's hardness. The fossil fish in this mural include a rare 19" Notogoneus osculus, 3- Diplomystus dentatus in sizes from 13" to 5-1/4", a 6-1/2" Priscacara serrata, and 2- 6" Knightia eocaena. The mural is supplied framed in a handmade Wenge wood frame, backed in wood with a two-part French cleat. The age of the fossils is 50 million years old, Early Eocene.

This mural ships in a custom-made wood crate, fully insured against loss or damage.
