This large-scale fossil fish mural presents three Diplomystus dentatus and four Knightia eocaena in a dynamic composition. Dating to the Early Eocene, these 50-million-year-old specimens come from our private quarry in southwestern Wyoming. The softly hued limestone matrix provides a warm, understated backdrop that highlights the deep coloration of the fossils. The fossils were found in a stone layer we call "Fossil Lake Classic", part of the famous 18" stone layer, a sediment layer known for providing exceptionally high-quality fossils.

The mural is finished with a handmade Wenge wood frame and is backed in wood with a built-in French cleat. This mural ships in a custom wood crate, fully insured against loss or damage. It arrives ready for immediate installation.
