This irregularly shaped fossil mural was quarried from a rare dark limestone layer that we call "Mosaic Lake I". It offers unique tans and gray colors with a light texture. The fossils found in this layer are typically exceptionally well preserved as the stone is harder and more compact than other lighter-colored stone. The fossil fish include two Diplomysuts dentatus, a large Priscacara serrata, and a Knightia eocenena. The age of the fossils is 50 million years, Early Eocene. The mural is backed in wood with finished beveled edges. We have attached a two-part French cleat to the back for easy hanging.

We ship this mural in a custom-built wood crate, fully insured against loss or damage.
