Description: Quarried from the Upper layers of our fossil quarry, this mural contains a 69" Palm Sabalites sp., an 11" Diplomystus dentatus, and five Knightia eocaena in sizes between 4-3/4" and 6-1/4". Complete fossil palms from the Green River Formation of Southwestern Wyoming are considered rare. This one is exceptional in preservation quality and detail. The fossils date to the Early Eocene, 50-million-years-old.

This beautifully detailed fossil palm leaf is exquisitely preserved within a matrix of fossil fish and contrastingly colored limestone. The palm's unique, windswept shape stands out strikingly against the bold tan and gray background matrix. The fossil palm and fish date to the Early Eocene Era. It was discovered in our fossil quarry in southwest Wyoming.
The mural is finished with a handmade Wenge wood frame and is backed with wood featuring a built-in French cleat. It ships in a custom wood crate, fully insured against loss or damage, and arrives ready to install.
