This elegant palm flower specimen was quarried from the Fossil Lake Grand layer in our private fossil quarry. Fine quality fossil plant specimens tend to be quite rare in general, and as each palm tree produces only a single palm flower per year, palm flowers are among our rarest finds. The natural fracture in the stone, formed by ancient seismic activity, adds unexpectedly graceful balance to the specimen. This palm flower fossil is approximately 50 million years old and came from the Green River Formation in Southwestern Wyoming.

The mural is finished with a handmade Wenge wood frame and is backed in wood with a built-in French cleat. This mural ships in a custom wood crate, fully insured against loss or damage. It arrives ready for immediate installation.
