This mural features a rare fossilized palm frond measuring 69" tall. The palm Palmacites sp. is of exceptional preservation quality and detail. It was quarried from the "Upper Layers" of our fossil quarry in Southwestern Wyoming. The stone is a darker limestone layer with bold textures and colors. The mural also contains a top stone layer with areas gold to tan volcanic ash. This is among the best and most unique palms we have ever unearthed. The age of the fossil is 50 million years old, Early Eocene. The mural is supplied backed in wood with a hand-made Wenge wood frame. We have attached a two part Alder wood French cleat on the back for easy hanging.

This mural ships in a custom made wood crate, fully insured against loss or damage.
