High-quality fossil plant material from the Green River Formation is exceedingly rare, and fossil palm fronds are among the most coveted due to their beautiful graphic nature and scale. This exquisitely preserved palm frond measures 68″ in height and is elegantly framed within a matrix of natural, fossil-bearing limestone that has an almost crystal-like grain. The top layers of the stone also show warm golden tones. The fossil was unearthed in our private quarry, part of the Green River Formation of southwest Wyoming.
The mural is supplied in an irregularly shaped matrix with finished beveled edges. It is backed in wood with a built-in French cleat. This mural ships in a custom wood crate, fully insured against loss or damage. It arrives ready for immediate installation.
