This irregularly shaped fossil plant mural was quarried from our Fossil Lake stone. The Fossil Lake layers are a series of fossil bearing sediment layers that are part of the 18" or F1 layers of the Green River Formation. These layers yield some of our finest fossils. This mural contains a rare 20" branch. Plants found in the Green River Formation are considered rare finds. The age of the fossils is 50 million years old, Early Eocene. The stone has been backed in wood, with finished beveled edges. We have attached a two-part, French cleat to the backs for easy hanging.

This mural ships in a custom-made wooden crate, fully insured against loss or damage.
